Oh, hello there. Is anyone still there? So…I took an unexpected two month blogging hiatus. And the reason is simply that I have been crazy busy. In January I started a new job doing destination marketing for a big cruise company, and that means traveling for work sometimes. And on top of that, we’re going to five weddings this summer, and that means a lot of personal travel for all the bachelorette parties, bridal showers and of course, the weddings themselves. It has been a lot of good stuff, but it just happened all at once, and something had to take a back seat so I didn’t burn out. So after long days in the office and a long commute home, that ended up being this blog. But on the upside, all this travel has produced a lot of fodder for this space, so now that I’ve had some time to get organized, I’m ready to hit the ground running here again and share all my recent (and less than recent) adventures with you all!
So first things first, I need to take a step back and finish up my coverage of our time in the DC area this Christmas. Yes, that’s how ridiculously behind I am right now…Christmas. But I digress. On our last day in the Virginia/Washington DC area, we decided to check out Virginia’s Udvar-Hazy Center, which is the companion facility to the National Air and Space Museum on the National Mall in Washington, DC. Along with our brother-in-law and two nephews, we perused the giant hanger full of treasures, including a Concord and my personal favorite, the space shuttle Discovery! It was fun to see the things the kids were interested in, and even more fun to watch my husband turn into a kid at the sight of various displays (such as the plane from Top Gun). #nerdalert
It was the perfect last activity to enjoy before heading to the airport and jumping on an airplane to propel ourselves home!
Thanks for sticking around despite my long absence, and as always, thanks for reading! Today I’m linking up with Packing My Suitcase and My Travel Monkey for #MondayEscapes, so check them out and share in the travel love!
