You may remember that last year, I entered the Capture the Color photography contest, in which participants are asked to submit photos that represent the colors red, yellow, blue, green and white. I didn’t win anything, but it was a fun experience to go through my photos and find the best ones to represent each color, so I decided to do it again this year! The overall winner gets £3000 in travel vouchers from Travel Supermarket, and winners of the individual categories get either an iPad, a Fuji camera or an Arc’teryx shopping voucher. Not bad prizes! Anyone can participate, but you’re asked to nominate 5 other people too.
So without further ado, here are my “capture the color” picks!
This is a beautiful door inside the Grand Palace in Bangkok, Thailand. The whole place is glittery and gold, and so to me, the red stood out.
Tuk tuks are one of the coolest things about Southeast Asia, in my opinion. I love this one, which appears to also be the ice cream truck, in bright, cheerful yellow on the streets of Luang Prabang, Laos.
I love everything about this photo. I love the boy’s affection for each other, I love the peacefulness of the water, the pristine beauty of Cambodia. This photo was taken at Angkor Wat in Siem Reap, Cambodia.
This photo is from the Penang Butterfly Farm in Malaysia. This place was full of color, every color. I could have done a whole “capture the color” post just using photos from the butterfly farm!
The sky in this picture is kind of ridiculous, and just proves that nature is the best artist of us all! This is in Bangkok, Thailand, above the Chao Phraya River. Bliss!
So there you have it! Keep your fingers and toes crossed for me that I can win some cool stuff, and if you have a blog and want to participate, get on it! As for my nominees, I think these people should probably enter this contest too:
Fun fact…all these bloggers also lived in/or currently live in Korea, and we’ve met them all in person! Check out their blogs for loads of fun travel stories 🙂
