Turkish Food in Seoul: Pasha Turkey Kabob & Food

For being the second largest city in the world, Seoul has a disappointingly small amount of non-Korean food restaurants. The deeper you dig in the city, the more places you can find; but compared to our home city Seattle, or other big cities like New York City or London, the selection is small. So you can see why we get so excited when we find great foreign food–such as the Mexican/Korean fusion restaurant in Itaewon, the Indian/Nepalese restaurant in Dongdaemun, and the amazing Italian restaurant near the Seoul Fortress Wall. Luckily, we’ve recently found another great restaurant to add to the list–Pasha Turkey Kabok & Food in Gangnam, which just might be the best Turkish food in Seoul.

This place has it all–nice ambiance, a good wine list, a free salad and dessert bar, and a menu packed full of delicious options (including vegetarian options). The chef is from Turkey, and although I’ve never been to Turkey and really have nothing to compare it to, it seemed authentic to me (I’m an expert in my own mind…) At the very least, I go out to eat often and I eat a lot, so regardless of authenticity, I like to think I at least can tell when I’m eating good food!

Matt and I went with two other friends, and we all ordered very different tasting dishes. We also ordered some bread, appetizers, wine, and we all heavily sampled the salad and dessert bar. Despite some mystery items from the salad bar, we all heartily enjoyed every part of our meal. The service was good, the wine was good, and the food was amazing. I can’t remember the names of anything we ordered, but everything was top notch. If you’re in the Gangnam neighborhood in Seoul, do yourself a favor and go gorge on some Turkish food!

And now for your enjoyment, here is some food porn:

To get to Pasha Turkey Kabob & Food, take Seoul Subway Line 2 to Gangnam Station, then take exit 5. Go straight for a few minutes and turn right in the first ally. Look for the Say-gay Building. Pasha is on the 4th floor.

I have also never had Turkish food (which is weird living in a foodie city like Portland), but that looks goooood! I love all the interesting breads of the world, that bread looks much like Lebanese bread. Post pictures of food, my eye goes straight to the CARBS. Typical.

It’s pretty similar to Moroccan or Indian food. It’s amazing, you would love it! The bread is similar to naan. No worries about being carb obsessed, I think bread might be my favorite food ๐Ÿ™‚

I almost went here once but didn’t feel like paying the prices… It’s on my list though.

Yah, I guess it’s one of those places that is expensive “for Korea.” I didn’t think it was expensive compared to a similar restaurant would be in the States, but it’s definitely a lot more than a Korean bbq style place!
