Happy Birthday Buddha!

Today is Buddha’s birthday, which is a national holiday here in Korea. We’re celebrating the founder of Buddism’s birthday by playing in Busan for the long weekend. Three days of sun and salt water is just what I’ve been needing! So, happy birthday Buddha–and thanks for the day off!

If you’re in Korea (or another country that celebrates Buddha’s birthday), how are you celebrating today?

We are celebrating Memorial Day! We have been working in the garden in high 70 degree weather. It would be nice to be hanging on the beach there with you guys!

I never liked working in the garden…but being home in the yard does sound nice ๐Ÿ™‚

We hung out with Jeff’s parents in Guro… not super exciting but it was nice ๐Ÿ™‚ On Sunday we saw the lanterns at a temple in Seoul.

Fun! How are they liking Korea so far? My sister is coming in a month, and I can’t wait to hear what all of her first impressions are!

They really like it! We went to Suwon, the fish market, and Namsan Cable Car with them, and ate lots of delicious food. Now they’ve gone on to Busan. It’s fun to have people you know visit! You can show off your Korean skills (you’ll seem magical ๐Ÿ™‚ ) and it’s always fun to see people’s first reactions to a place.
