If you follow me on Instagram, saw this post, this post or this post (I could go on!), then you’ve probably realized that I’m a big, huge animal lover. I’m a self-described crazy cat lady, but honestly, I should just call myself “crazy animal lady,” because cats are just the starting point. So when I found out I was visiting a KANGAROO FARM about 40 minutes outside of Seattle for my job, I was ecstatic. Notice I said farm, not zoo, meaning that the animals were just roaming about freely. Amazing!
So I, alongside a group of families (most of whom were toting around toddlers), took a tour of The Outback Kangaroo Farm in Arlington, Washington. I must say, my enthusiasm for these cute creatures matched (if not surpassed) the excitement and enthusiasm of the wee ones. KANGAROOS guys! In the Pacific Northwest! And not just kangaroos, but a plethora of other cute, fluffy, lovable animals–wallabies, goats, donkeys, alpacas, rabbits, ostriches, a miniature pony, peacocks, chickens, ducks and probably something else I’ve missed. And they’re almost all friendly; friendly enough to feed and pet and even cuddle–with the exception of the ostriches and the miniature pony, who apparently has a bit of a temper. You can kiss an alpaca, hug a kangaroo, and the highlight of the day–hold a baby wallaby. Best work day EVER. I don’t feel I have the words to sum up the awesomeness of this strange little farm, so instead, here are some photographs of some of the farm’s cutest residents. Enjoy!
